Immunizations for children

Immunizing children on schedule is the best protection against dangerous childhood diseases.

Along with regular checkups at the doctor’s office, immunizations are the best way to keep children healthy. In South Carolina it is recommended that all children have check-ups within the first week; at 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 months; at ages 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 years; and annually up to age 20 years. Your doctor may vary this schedule slightly. Immunizations are generally given following the schedule shown below. Check with your doctor for updates on this schedule.
