The 2019 Building Hope for Children Conference hosted by Children’s Trust brought together 400 attendees in Greenville that included social workers, counselors, nurses, pediatricians, educators, nonprofit administrators, government officials and other child-serving professionals, who are all working to prevent child abuse and neglect. Under a theme of “Resilient Families and Thriving Communities,” the conference featured a diverse mix of national keynote speakers who highlighted the importance of building resilient families, thriving communities, and a better future for South Carolina’s children. Emada Tingirides, Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles, Calif; Enrique Feldman, musician and educator, Tucson, Ariz.; Judge Glenda Hatchett, “The Verdict,” Atlanta, Ga.; and Dr. Jerry Milner, associate commissioner, Children’s Bureau, Washington, D.C.
