Last week Gov. Henry McMaster, surrounded by a bipartisan group of legislators, urged the General Assembly to pass legislation that would give state employees 12 weeks of paid parental leave. Bills introduced by Rep. Beth Bernstein (D-Richland) in the House and Sen. Darrell Jackson (D-Richland) in the Senate would authorize paid family leave.
