ACE Train-the-Trainer

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic events that occur in a child’s life. Science shows the strong relationship between the bad things that happen as children and negative health and well-being as adults. By better understanding ACEs, what they are and how they can manifest themselves years later, communities can work to prevent future abuse and improve outcomes for South Carolina’s children and families. Children’s Trust is partnering with community leaders to provide trainings on ACEs.

  • Neuroscience and Brain Development
  • The ACE Study and ACE Impact
  • ACE Prevention: Protective Systems and Resilience

 This is a two-part training over two days. The first day is an overview of all the basic ACE Interface content and SC-specific processes and resources. The second day will focus on tailoring presentations to specific audiences and preparing for training. Download detailed overview.


This train-the-trainer session is reserved for participants from Allendale, Bamberg, Calhoun, and Orangeburg counties. Please contact Michael Shirley or Alexis Dow if you are from an individual school or school district – there may be other opportunities forthcoming. Deadline to register is January 14 at 5 p.m. Space is limited to 50 attendees.
