Pulling, a retired educator from the Lowcountry, was presented the award named for former board chair David Yezbak at the quarterly meeting.

“I was so honored to be the first recipient of the Yezbak Award for board leadership from Children’s Trust,” Pulling said. “Serving on this board for the last eight years has been such a privilege. Children’s Trust is an awesome organization with a great staff and a wonderful and committed board. They do great work sponsoring programs to prevent child abuse and neglect by strengthening families and providing the support they need to be successful.”

Children’s Trust CEO Sue Williams saluted the members for their commitment over their respective years of service. They helped oversee a significant expansion in budget, program offerings and staffing during their terms.

“We appreciate the strategic guidance and support these five dedicated board members gave to Children’s Trust,” Williams said. “The expertise they provided was invaluable, and their commitment to helping children and families thrive was evident in so many ways.”

In addition to Pulling’s educational background, the other members represented a cross section of occupations: Craven as an attorney, Hewitt as a CPA, Phelps as a licensed therapist, and Woolwine as a media relations professional.

Children’s Trust will announce its five new board members in the coming weeks.
