In the March newsletter, Children’s Trust CEO Sue Williams addresses the importance of key protective factors as a way of dealing with the  many challenges being presented by the coronavirus outbreak. In addition to specific actions that she encouraged, her letter includes a listing of useful resources and information. 

“These are uneasy times for everyone, but especially children and their families. In previous times of stress and crisis, we have seen rates of child abuse rise. While we all work to maintain that safe physical distance – and frequently wash our hands – there are specific things we can do to help ease social isolation and keep children and families safe during these challenging days.”

The newsletter also highlights how the annual Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign this April will have a different focus this year due to the impact of the coronavirus.
