As 2020 winds down, we look back on a year that has presented challenges previously unseen in our lifetimes, especially for children and families already living on the edge of the safety net. However, and despite the hurdles presented by the pandemic, Children’s Trust has held strong to its commitment of preventing child abuse and neglect.
- We have worked with our partners across South Carolina to successfully provide our evidence-based programming to families in a virtual format.
- We launched a new website called SC Parents to help all families find resources in their local areas.
- We are partnering with the S.C. Department of Social Services on a new national initiative called Thriving Families, Safer Children which focuses on building a continuum of prevention strategies, promoting child and family well-being with a strengths-based approach, and breaking multi-generational cycles of trauma and poverty.
Please take a moment over these holidays to reach out to others around you who might need some support, some solace, some kindness, or just a little positivity in their lives. Keep your hearts open and help ensure that every family has the opportunity to thrive.
From Children’s Trust board and staff, we wish all of you happy holidays and a safer and healthier 2021.

CEO, Children’s Trust
