The U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.2480, The Stronger Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), last week. The bill greatly increases the funding to prevent child abuse and encourages policies that promote the protective factors.

“One of our most basic responsibilities as public servants is to protect children from the physical and emotional trauma of child abuse and neglect,” said U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), chairman of the Education and Labor Committee.
