RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — Attorney General Alan Wilson will observe the 13th annual Children’s Advocacy Center Day at a press conference on Wednesday.
The press conference will take place at 11 am.
AG Wilson will be joined by state legislators and advocates from the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers.
He will be joined by Thomas Knapp, Director of SC Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers, Senator Katrina Shealy, Bett Williams, Communications Officer of the Children’s Trust of SC, and Amanda Whittle, Director of SC Department of Children’s Advocacy.
Children’s Advocacy Center Day is sponsored by the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers and Children’s Trust of South Carolina.
Children’s Advocacy Centers in South Carolina provided services to over 13,000 children for allegations of child abuse last year. Including forensic interviews, forensic medical exams, trauma-focused mental health therapy, and multidisciplinary team coordination.
