(L-R) Adrienne Bellinger, Sue Williams, Caitlyn McAnulty celebrate Midlands Gives event.

Children’s Trust participated in Midlands Gives, the 24-hour online giving challenge May 1 designed for nonprofit organizations in 11 counties throughout central South Carolina.

The event proved to be a successful one. With a $5,000 matching gift from Abacus Planning Group, Children’s Trust was able to raise a total of $12,012 from 71 donors, which placed us in the top 10 percent of the 372 organizations raising funds on the day. In addition, we were awarded another $1,000 for the Nephron Champion Page Challenge in a random drawing involving organizations that reached their goal by 6 p.m. that day.

“We’re very excited about the results from our first year participating in Midlands Gives,” said Caitlyn McAnulty, Children’s Trust donor relations coordinator. “This is such a great event to help the community rally around our local nonprofits, and it’s the perfect way to introduce ourselves to philanthropists who might not be familiar with our organization. I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of new donors who gave to us on May 1. We’re already looking forward to participating again in 2019.”
