Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides both operational and programmatic support to the organization. The CFO will work with the chief executive officer (CEO) on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs and new funding acquisition. The CFO will be responsible for all financial aspects of the organization.
The CFO will play a catalytic role in enhancing the financial viability of the organization and will create and effectively deploy financial strategies that will allow Children’s Trust to impact child abuse and neglect across the state.
The CFO must be a skilled, financial leader who is passionate about the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
Qualifications

Be a certified public accountant (CPA). Preference will be given to those with a master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or relevant field.

Have five to seven years of financial experience and management experience with the day-to-day financial operations of an organization with greater than ten people. Advanced knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.

Embody knowledge of federal and state regulations and policies to include an understanding and ability to interpret and implement the Uniform Guidance 2 C.F.R. Part 200.

Embody knowledge of annual financial statement preparation in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).

Lipscomb Assistant
Submit By: June 25, 2026
The Lipscomb Assistant is a part-time, temporary, grant position with Children’s Trust of South Carolina. This opportunity will be funded through the Lipscomb Family Foundation and will focus primarily on Child Abuse Prevention Month activities, fundraising and prevention messaging.
Qualifications

Must be a college junior, senior or graduate-level student that can commit to working through May 2027.

We are interested in candidates who have or are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, English or other relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience with event planning and/or community outreach.
