The House passed a resolution, H. 4154, to recognize the important work done to combat the significant problem of child maltreatment and to declare Tuesday, April 4, 2023, as “Children’s Advocacy Center Day” in South Carolina.
The resolution recognizes the serious concerns of child maltreatment and the growing problem of child abuse as evidenced by a 16 percent increase in children served by Advocacy Centers in South Carolina in 2021. A copy of the resolution is to be presented to Thomas Knapp, executive director of the South Carolina Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers.
The Concurrent Resolution was introduced in the Senate and referred to the Committee on Family and Veterans’ Services.
