The Senate meets Tuesday, March 17 to consider legislation directing additional funds to the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control to address coronavirus/COVID-19 response. After a funding bill is adopted, the Senate will adjourn for the week. Currently, the House is on a planned furlough, but Monday afternoon it was announced that House members will meet Thursday, March 19 to address the coronavirus/COVID-19 response funding bill. Last week’s discussion of bills included paid parental leave, as well updates on the Committee on Children reauthorization, background checks on group home employees, and the SC Child Abuse Response Protocol Act.
