Lt. Governor Pamela Evette attended a home visit with a Lexington County mother and her child earlier this month.
The mom is a participant of the Parents as Teachers program through Eau Claire Cooperative Health Center. Parents as Teachers is one of three evidence-based home visiting models that Children’s Trust supports through local community partners.
Following the home visit, Lt. Governor Evette advocated for the expansion of home visiting programs throughout the state at a news conference at the S.C. State House.
“I have seen first-hand the invaluable work being done by Children’s Trust home visiting programs in our state,” said Lt. Governor Evette. “By offering guidance and support directly within the families’ homes, these programs empower parents with the tools and resources they need to provide the best possible start in life for their children.”
