Children’s Trust recently hosted a Strategic Storytelling session for parent leaders in South Carolina with trainers from the Children’s Trust Fund Alliance (CTF Alliance). Strategic Sharing helps parents share their personal life experiences in a meaningful, focused and powerful way to influence policies and practices that affect families.
By linking personal experiences to larger systems and solutions, parents can dismantle harmful narratives, highlight community wisdom and develop stronger, more preventative systems for families.
This workshop allows participants to create and share their personal stories in a safe and supportive environment. Participants explore what it means to share their stories strategically, how to maximize credibility while sharing, and the benefits of sharing from personal experience.
Participants were the S.C. Parent Advisory Council members and parent leaders from our funded partners.
