Last week President Joe Biden signed the COVID-19 relief package passed by the U.S. Congress. The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 includes $250 million in emergency funding for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) and $150 million for the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program.
The administration is expected to release guidelines in the near future on how the funding is to be used. As lead agency in South Carolina for MIECHV and CBCAP, Children’s Trust will keep you updated about this one-time opportunity with our state’s share of the funding.
