South Carolina Living magazine, which shares the faces, places and events that identify the Palmetto State as a great place to live and visit, recently published a column by Mike Couick that brings awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month and the role Children’s Trust plays in keeping South Carolina children safe and its families strong.
Couick, the president and CEO of The Electric Cooperatives of S.C., Inc., the statewide association of consumer-owned electric utilities, noted how the hectic demands of daily life and the changing dynamics of family units can leave parents and caregivers feeling isolated and unsupported, which can lead to abuse and neglect.
He wrote how Children’s Trust helps equip families with ways to better navigate tough times in a more resilient fashion, thanks to proven prevention programs like home visiting and the Strengthening Families Program.
