Children’s Trust CEO Sue Williams will testify in front of the House Education and Public Works Early Childhood Subcommittee today at the Blatt Building, Room 433, at 3:30 p.m. Williams will provide an overview of the mission of Children’s Trust, explain where the state ranks nationally in child health and well-being, and detail our organization’s evidence-based child abuse prevention programs, with specific a focus on the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program and how it provides support to improve maternal and child health, encourage positive parenting, and promote child development and school readiness.
The Policy Post also includes a federal update on proposed funding by the U.S. Congress for Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) programs and Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP) initiatives as well as this week’s bills and meetings to watch in the S.C. Legislature.
