Event information

Held the first Thursday of every month from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Learning Thursdays raise awareness of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and inform the public of the current events happening within Children’s Trust of South Carolina’s departments.

Family Resource Centers and Parent Engagement

This session will focus on family resource centers and parent engagement. Family resource centers are community-based or school-based places where families can access support services and information, such as parenting classes, job training, mental health and family counseling, child care, job training and more. Family resource centers can be found in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, churches, community centers and other organizations. With programs and activities generally provided at no cost or low cost to participating families, they are responsive to the specific needs, cultures, and interests of the local populations they serve.

Audience

This training is ideal for case managers, social workers, early childcare providers, parents, foster parents and anyone interested in learning more about this department of Children’s Trust.
