What is the Building Hope for Children Conference?

The Building Hope for Children Conference offers a unique experience for anyone interested in the prevention of child abuse and neglect and the promotion of resilience and well-being. Professionals, leaders and advocates for children and families work tirelessly to build strong families and thriving communities. Their contributions give us hope for a better future for our children and our families across South Carolina.

To support these everyday heroes, Children’s Trust is hosting its Building Hope for Children Conference, which will focus on regional prevention efforts, child welfare and building strong community resources that support family well-being. Conference attendees will be inspired by dozens of dynamic breakout sessions, local and national experts, and networking opportunities with peers from around the state.

Home Visiting Summit

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the 2020 Home Visiting Summit scheduled for August in Columbia was canceled. It is being merged into the Building Hope for Children Conference, where specific speakers, sessions and breakouts will be geared for home visiting professionals. We encourage home visitors to attend this event.

Call for presentations

Share your expertise with us

Children's Trust is monitoring the current COVID-19 situation and will make a decision later this fall about holding an in-person conference. The call for presentations will remain open until an official decision is made about conference programming and all submissions will be notified of any changes.

Children’s Trust seeks fresh, relevant content tailored to attendees, including direct-service providers, program administrators and support staff, and other community stakeholders. Presentation content should be related to the prevention of child abuse and neglect or promotion of child and family well-being, and all content should foster race equity and inclusion. Attendees will gain strategies to strengthen individual programs and services.
