Uvette Pope-Rogers, CPA, CGMA
Chief Financial Officer
Vette, who joined Children’s Trust in 2010, directs the finance and accounting functions, which increase the organization’s operational and financial capacity to benefit the children, families and communities of South Carolina.
Prior to working at Children’s Trust, she worked as the controller and assistant controller at the South Carolina Education Lottery Commission for eight years. Vette, who also has worked as an auditor at Rogers & Laban, had a military career where she served as an U.S. Army officer.
She is a certified public accountant (CPA) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Francis Marion University.
McKenzie Hudson is a grants accountant who serves as the primary fiscal contact for sub-recipients and a secondary contact for fiscal affairs on the federal level. She monitors budgets, invoices and reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with federal and organizational regulations. In addition, she supports grantees throughout the state with technical assistance needs and on-site visits.
A graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, McKenzie has spent her career in accounting and marketing.
The Saluda native likes to spend her free time watching sports, especially cheering for her Chanticleers, and enjoying the outdoors. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Gwendolyn provides fiscal support on grants and contracts. She works with the grants compliance manager, program officers, and staff in developing, implementing and providing ongoing financial oversight to grants management operations. She ensures the appropriate use and accurate reporting of all financial transactions on grants and contracts.
Prior to Children’s Trust, she worked as the accounting associate for the Head Start and Early Head Start program for Orangeburg-Calhoun-Allendale-Bamberg Community Action Agency.
A graduate of South Carolina State University (SCSU) with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, she also holds a master’s degree in business administration at SCSU.
Tyrell provides financial support to accounting processes through data entry of accounts receivable and accounts payable while preparing payments to vendors.
He worked as a quality control associate for Prysmian Cables and Systems before joining the Children’s Trust team. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Andrea Tucker, CPA
Andrea manages accounting processes to ensures that financial transactions are carried out properly and timely, which helps make resources available to improve the lives of children and families in South Carolina.
Andrea is a certified public accountant (CPA), receiving her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina and master’s of professional accounting from Clemson University. Prior to joining Children’s Trust, Andrea was an auditor at Elliott Davis, LLC.
Grants Compliance Manager
Deb is responsible for grant and contract management, procurement and financial procedures.
A graduate of South Dakota State University, Brookings, Deb also volunteers as the treasurer for ACTS Metro, a Columbia-based nonprofit helping families get to self-sufficiency.
